What can I scan with NameThisThing?▾
Virtually anything — coins, watches, antiques, electronics, art, furniture, toys, tools, jewelry, rocks, instruments, and more. The AI is trained on a wide range of objects and gets better over time.
How accurate are the value estimates?▾
Value estimates are AI-generated ranges based on market data and should be treated as rough guides, not appraisals. For high-value items, always consult a professional appraiser. The rarity score is relative and designed to be fun and informative.
How does the coin system work?▾
Each scan costs 5 coins. You earn 3 free coins every day just by opening the app, with bonus coins for maintaining daily streaks. You can also purchase coin packs or subscribe to the Weekly Pass for 200 coins per week.
Is my data private?▾
Yes. Your scan history is stored locally on your device. Images are sent to our AI server for analysis but are not stored permanently. We don't sell or share your data.
Does it work offline?▾
An internet connection is required for scanning since the AI analysis happens on our servers. However, your scan history and collections are available offline.
